Privacy Policy

We, CEWE Stiftung & Co. KGaA (hereinafter referred to as CEWE), appreciate your visit to our website and your interest in our CEWE photo competitions.

CEWE respects your privacy. All data collected is used to improve our services. Data protection and data security for users are a high priority for CEWE. The protection of your personal data throughout our business processes is therefore of particular concern to us.

In accordance with Art. 13 of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), this privacy policy explains what information we at CEWE collect during your visit to our websites and when you participate in photo competitions and how this information is used. However, the declaration does not apply to websites of other companies that contain a link to our pages or to which our websites link.

1. collection and processing of personal data

When you visit our websites, our web servers temporarily store access data by default, i.e. the IP address of your access, the session ID to identify your connection session and the date and time of your visit. This data is deleted at the end of your visit in accordance with legal regulations. In addition, personal data is only stored if you provide it to us voluntarily, for example when registering for our photo competitions, submitting your photos to a photo competition, reporting content or completing a survey. You will be informed about the purpose of data collection in the respective entry and contact forms.

2. transmission of data via the Internet

Sensitive data, such as log-in, password or address data, are transmitted exclusively via encrypted connections (HTTPS / SSL) and stored on security servers.

3. note on data transfer to third countries

To ensure the high availability of our customer service, we are occasionally supported by service providers outside the scope of the EU GDPR. We have concluded contracts with the service providers with EU standard contractual clauses and regularly ensure that our very high data protection requirements are also met in full.

4. making contact

You have the option of contacting us in several ways: By e-mail, by telephone or by post. When you contact us, we use the personal data that you voluntarily provide to us in this context. This is done solely for the purpose of contacting you and to be able to process your enquiry properly.

When contacting us by telephone, there are no costs higher than the transmission costs according to the basic rate.

5 Use and disclosure of personal data and purpose limitation

We use the data you provide to process the CEWE photo competitions. Your data will be used in accordance with the applicable data protection regulations solely for the purpose associated with the respective collection and to safeguard our own legitimate business interests, in particular the technical administration of the websites. Only if you have given us your prior consent will we also use this data for product-related surveys and marketing purposes. You can revoke any consent you have given at any time with effect for the future.

In this context, CEWE commissions other companies and individuals with the fulfilment of sub-tasks. These service providers have access to personal information that is necessary for the fulfilment of your tasks. However, you may only use this information for these purposes. We have obliged our service providers to handle the information in accordance with the relevant data protection laws and our data protection declarations. Personal data will only be transferred to state authorities within the framework of mandatory legal provisions. The data you provide will be disclosed to private third parties - for example other organisers (partners) of a photo competition - for the purpose of communicating the prize and processing the prize dispatch. Any further disclosure of your data to private third parties will only take place with your express consent.

Our employees are obliged by us to maintain confidentiality and to comply with the relevant data protection regulations.

When you register for the newsletter, your e-mail address will be used for our own advertising purposes until you unsubscribe from the newsletter. We use the data required for this or separately provided by you to regularly send you our e-mail newsletter. Unsubscribing from the newsletter is possible at any time and can be done via a link provided for this purpose in the newsletter.

According to the applicable data protection regulations, you have a right to free information about your stored data and, if necessary, a right to correction, blocking or deletion of this data.
